  1942 Chicago Coin 'GOBS'
        Welcome to Prewarpinball.com...

the only website on the Internet devoted to collecting and restoring the pre1948 or 'flipperless' pinball machine. We have informational pages on early purely mechanical 'trade stimulator' type tabletop models, 'payout' (gambling) pinballs, early 'EM' or electromechanical models (like this unrestored 1942 Chicago Coin 'GOBS' - the last machine made by Chicago Coin before WWII), and WWII era 'wartime conversion' machines in our Special Interest section - just click on the link in our menu.

These vintage pinball machines may present special problems for restorers, due to their age and scarcity of replacement parts and information. So, those of you who are restoring or repairing one of these pinball machines will find restoration hints, lists of parts manufacturers and vendors, and classified ads in the Restoration section of this website. For those of you who may be interested in doing your own restoration, we also are showing the actual restoration of various pinball machines, including a Bally 'Airway of 1937' pinball machine, in webpage format.

This page belongs to a Yahoo! group for collectors and restorers of these vintage machines, and we are actively searching for new members to join our group.  Anyone who is interested in these early pinball machines (even if you don't already own one) and would like to join our group may contact the group's moderator by clicking on the 'General Info' link at the menu at the top of the page.
